Video – Kris Ajer involved in Moi Elyounoussi’s stunning assist for Norway

Kris Ajer started the move that led to Moi Elyounoussi’s stunning assist for Norway last night that gave Leipzig star Alexander Sorloth a simple tap-in and Norway three vital points in their World Cup qualifier away to Montenegro.

Norway opened their campaign with a 3-0 win in Gibraltar before losing their ‘home’ game against Turkey (the match was played in Malaga in Spain) so they had to get the points in Montenegro last night and this piece of brilliance from the Southampton forward, on loan at Celtic, was enough to keep Norwegian hopes of reaching Qatar next winter alive.

And Sorloth clearly appreciated the contribution made by Elyounoussi for his crucial gaol. Speaking to Norwegian channel TV2 after the game the Leipzig goalscorer was full of praise for Moi. “It’s fantastic from Moi. You just have to take your hat off for what he does there!”

Of all the loan players at Celtic Elyounoussi is the one many supporters would like to see remain at the club. Southampton are reportedly open to lowering their transfer fee expectations and this would allow Celtic to be able to afford to sign the Norwegian.

That decision though is likely to be taken by the new manager who really needs to get started so that these kind of decisions can be made. We’ve all waited long enough!
