Daizen Maeda has opened the scoring for Celtic against Livingston, minutes after Callum McGregor missed a penalty. Ange Postecoglou’s team are yet to beat Livingston this season but have started with a view to bucking that trend.
Carl Starfelt headed the ball goalwards from a Jota corner after Ralston won a corner. The Livi goalkeeper Stryjek got down well to save but the Japanese striker popped up at the back post to header the ball into the net.

Maeda fired his shot goalbound but Jack Fitzwater managed to block it with his arm, allowing Nick Walsh to point to the spot. With Josip Juranovic benched for Tony Ralston, the skipper took the ball and responsibility of taking the penalty. McGregor’s effort cannoned off the post. The midfielder, playing in a more advanced role today, had another chance shortly afterwards with a Jota cross coming in.

Maeda and Jota are both looking hungry today as Celtic look to end their poor run of form at Livi.
McGregor is having a very poor game whilst the team are playing well.
