Hatem Abd Elhamed was brought down in the box and McGregor took the ball before smashing it into the net.
A hat trick from Leigh Griffiths and a tidy finish from Odsonne Edouard completed the rout which sends Celtic 16 points clear at the top.
The win will give Celtic massive confidence ahead of next weekend’s match at Ibrox with both strikers scoring and looking menacing.
