Video: Oh celebrates with Celtic supporters after St Mirren match

Hyeongyu Oh is fast settling into life at Celtic following his move from Suwon Bluewings in South Korea. The bulky frontman has been brought to the club as a replacement for the now departed Greek forward, Giorgos Giakoumakis, who completed his move to Atlanta United last week.

Oh has made a couple of substitute appearances from the bench since arriving but hadn’t managed to find the back of the net until yesterday our the Scottish Cup Fifth Round tie against St Mirren at Paradise. Now that he has broken his duct he will want to kick on and grab some more goals and headlines in the business end of the season.

With an unfortunate injury to Kyogo Furuhashi occurring during the win over the Saints last night, the big man might have to be called upon from the start depending on the extent of Kyogo’s malady. By the looks of it he would thrive if given the opportunity and he has also taken over Kyogo’s mantle with the fans the past few weeks too.

Usually, Kyogo will go over to the Hoops supporters and celebrate with them after every game – it’s something that has become synonymous with the Japan international and the fanbase. But as Kyogo was injured and couldn’t make it yesterday after the match, Oh stepped in to help with the help of our big goalkeeper, Joe Hart.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
