The Green Brigade have created some stunning displays at Hampden Park in recent times. The memory of their tribute to Bertie Auld in the Premier Sports Cup Semi-Final will last for some time. However, there will be no such display against theRangers this weekend as the SFA have blocked it, likely due to its connotations with the Easter Rising.
Instead, the ultras group have taken to social media to encourage all fans to play their part by bringing the Irish tricolour to the match. Their short post concluded with:
“On Easter Sunday, we go to war under the flag of Ireland.”
For Sunday’s match, the Celtic support has been denied the opportunity to rally behind the team with a tifo. We therefore encourage all fans to play their part by bringing the Irish tricolour to the match.

Very sad that you promote the excellent Tifos that The GB have produced but neglect to point out that the “going to war” narrative is completely unacceptable.
Why is It ‘completely unacceptable’? Using battle fever, going to war, up for the fight is standard language in football chat, a bit like a game of two halves etc. The opposition on Sunday in recent years have taken to having the army firing big guns – paid for by the taxpayer – firing blanks inside their stadium, their fans only last week were signing about RAF bombers…but yeah the Green Brigade’s message – after the the SFA rejected their plans to display a tricolour – is ‘completely unacceptable”.
I was at my first Celtic game on January 1953 and have been, either, a supporter or a fan, ever since. I will never carry a flag of Ireland, will never sing pro IRA songs and find the ‘green brigade’ an embarrassment.
