Video: On This Day 2 Years Ago, Mikey Johnston At The Double

Mikey Johnston has finally returned to first team action after several months on the sidelines through injury. Johnston is a bright prospect, who has done very well since emerging from the youth academy. Indeed, Damien Duff said that he was one of the best young players that he had ever seen.

Celtic have very much missed the services of their wide men this season, particularly since James Forrest got injured in Riga. Neil Lennon has had to utilise Ryan Christie in an unfamiliar right midfield role, whilst Jeremie Frimpong has been pushed forward at times too.

The return of Mikey Johnston is one that gives fans a sense of optimism moving forward. He brings goals, speed and natural wide play to the team, though he also enjoys coming in on his right foot from the left wing.

It was on this day, two years ago, that Johnston scored a double against Motherwell, which gives fans hope that Mikey can bring something to the table that has been missing.
