Video: Paul Lambert talks League Cup Final and 1998 memories in Celtic View Podcast

Former Celtic captain Paul Lambert has appeared as a guest on the Celtic View podcast. The Champions League winner spoke about the League Cup Semi Final, his thoughts on the current midfield, the upcoming League Cup Final, his views on the manager as well as his memories from his glittering playing days – including stopping 10IAR in 1998 as well as the Journey to Seville.

Lambert made 274 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals and won 4 Leagues, 2 League Cups and 2 Scottish Cups in his time at the club. As Lambert mentions the 1998 League win, it is worth mentioning his goal against Rangers in the New Years Derby. Lambert came up with one of the biggest goals of his career in a game against Rangers at Celtic Park. The ball sat up nicely for the Scotland Internationalist, who struck the ball perfectly to leave Andy Gorum, who had so often foiled Celtic, with no chance.

The win would prove to be pivotal in the stopping of the ten later that year. It was a huge psychological boost for the team.
