Video: Postecoglou challenges Griffiths to win over Celtic support

Ange Postecoglou has challenged Leigh Griffiths to prove himself to the Celtic support in the wake of booing in the defeat to West Ham on Saturday. The 30-year-old replaced Odsonne Edouard in the second half and he was met by a chorus of boos from sections of the Celtic support. Others applauded the club’s No.9 which resulted in an uneasy atmosphere as each touch from Griffiths was met with both cheers and jeers.

The Australian, rightly, refused to tell the supporters to back down but instead told the player to win the fans over and prove himself worthy of the one-year extension that he was given at the beginning of July.

A recurring calf injury keeps him out of the trip to Denmark but Griffiths needs to get himself back up and running or he faces falling behind in the pecking order at Celtic Park.
