Video: Scenes as Giakoumakis wins it for Celtic

Giorgos Giakoumakis won it for Celtic in the dying embers against St Johnstone. The Greek striker, who had a header erroneously disallowed, scored a matter of seconds after Callum Davidson’s team equalised.

James McCarthy did well to forage for the ball before letting Bernabei go into space, allowing the Argentine to fire a cross for Giakoumakis to score.

Celtic will now go five points clear of Rangers, who play later this afternoon. It’s a big win for Ange’s team, who almost dropped points.

Now the focus turns to RB Leipzig, who arrive at Paradise on Tuesday for the crucial Champions Leavue tie. Celtic weren’t at their best today but they got the points and that is all that matters.

Thought James McCarthy showed tremendous will to keep the ball alive for our winner. For a guy who has made his money in the game, this is encouraging .He’s not gone away you know”to quote another guy. Will still have a part to play in our season.
