Video: Scott McDonald sensational strike snatches the points

On this day in 2008, Scott McDonald’s incredible volley secured all three points for Celtic at Ibrox.

In the second half, a ball was flighted towards Samaras, who flicked the ball on to the Australian, and with a chest, swivel and powerful strike the ball soon nestled in the far top corner.

1-0 is how the scoreline stayed, with the Hoops moving seven points clear at the top of the SPL. Incredibly, Celtic contrived to lose their grip on the title by the end of the season and finished four points behind Rangers.
