Video: Sensational fan footage captures Tom Rogic magic

A Celtic supporter has shared their footage from Tom Rogic’s incredible last minute winner against Aberdeen in the 2017 Scottish Cup Final. The game was finely poised at 1-1 heading towards extra-time when the Australian collected the ball and began to drive at the Aberdeen defence.

Given that he had been introduced early in the first half as a sub, the attacking midfielder was able to glide beyond the Aberdeen defenders and fashion an opening for himself in the box. His right footed shot flashed beyond Joe Lewis and rippled into the net. Sheer mayhem ensued in the stands and on the pitch as Celtic celebrated.

Fortunately, this can be relived in the clip shared on Twitter/X by Candyman.

It was my greatest Celtic moment (so far) and will be a high bar to beat. I have always had a fondness for Rogic but this consolidates his place.

Despite being 30, Rogic bowed out of football earlier this month due to wanting to commit his time to being a father to his daughter, husband to his wife and then look after the family unit, which is due to welcome twins early next year. A class act on and off the football pitch, Aussie Tam will be remembered for the moments of magic he conjured in the Hoops; although, this one was the best.
