Video: Shane Duffy’s heroic goal-saving clearance

SHANE DUFFY was solid as a rock for Ireland in their penalties defeat to Slovakia. The Celtic central defender endured 120 minutes of defensive duties in Bratislava before Stephen Kenny’s side were beaten on penalties.

However, the Derry-born Duffy made an incredible goal line clearance as Darren Randolph was beaten in the Ireland goal. Duffy took up position on the line and stretched to stop the ball from nestling in the far corner with a stunning stop.

Duffy was praised for a solid defensive display as the Irish man captained his side. Contrary to claims from Gary Breen that his career would be hampered due to moving to Glasgow.
