Video – Soro Arrives in Glasgow

CELTIC’S new £2million signing Ismaila Soro has finally arrived in Scotland, touching down at Glasgow Airport to complete his move from Bnei Yehuda to the Premiership Champions and League leaders.

STV’s Raman Bhardwaj appears to have recovered from the huge disappointment at seeing his favourites ‘blink’ at Tynecastle yesterday as Steven Gerrard’s side ‘slipped’ up in their attempts to reach ’55’. The Scottish TV Sports reporter was on hand at the airport to capture the moment that Soro finally made it to Glasgow.

The comments from Ismaila Soro concerning his plans to reach Liverpool via a successful stop-over in Glasgow is not something that Celtic Supporters should get too upset about. The boy – like most of the world it appears (including Ireland incidentally) seem to have an overwhelming exposure to the English Premier League and that is where all footballers seem to want to end up playing their football.

And Celtic are using the ‘stepping-stone’ argument when selling the club to players and their agents.

Last week Soro passed his medical in Israel and agreed a four-and-half-year contract with Celtic with just the work-permit formality to be sorted out. This took a little more time than initially expected but now the wait is over and he should be photographed in the Hoops at Celtic Park later today.

Here’s what Soro is reported to have said to an Israeli website while waiting on clearance to travel. “After Celtic I would like to play in the Premier League and Liverpool, that’s why the Scottish league will be very good for me,” he said as reported by Daily Record.

“I’m really happy to make a career because Celtic is a great team. It’s flattering to take my career to the next level and face such a challenge.

“It was so exciting when I was informed that I was officially joining Celtic, I was very happy that the deal was finally closed and I said thank you to the club.”

Welcome to Glasgow Ismaila – it’s Green and White!
