Video: Two Late Goals Sink Dundee Utd In Memorable Scottish Cup Tie, On This Day

The Scottish Cup holds a very special place in Celtic’s history and few games in the competition have been more exciting than the 2-1 victory over Dundee United on this day in 1996.

The Hoops found themselves 1-0 down when Owen Coyle scored from a rebounded penalty in the 29th minute, and it appeared the result would finish that way. However, Van Hooijdonk stepped up to draw Celtic level in the 88th minute and seconds later, Andreas Thom snatched the victory with a goal that took the roof off the stands that had one at that time!
