Video: “We’ll see”, Elyounoussi’s grinning response to Celtic return poser

Moi Elyounoussi gave a beaming response when asked about a potential return to Celtic. After giving Brendan Rodgers’ return to the club a glowing review, Viaplay’s Emma Dodds asked the Norwegian Internationalist whether he could potentially return to Paradise following the expiry of his deal with Southampton.

The comment regarding the supporters suggests that Moi would certainly consider a move to the Scottish Champions.

Elyounoussi initially struggled at Southampton after making a £16 million switch from Swiss side Basel in the summer of 2018. This resulted in his two loan seasons at Celtic Park, where the winger scored 25 goals in 69 outings under Neil Lennon, including 6 goals in European competitions. You’d have to think with the way that Rodgers plays would suit Moi and help continued success domestically and in Europe.

With Brendan Rodgers set to return to Celtic, Elyounoussi may be willing to rekindle his love affair with Glasgow. The Irishman’s scheduled return seemed unlikely a matter of weeks ago so it is not outwith the realm of possibility that the 28-year-old could return.
