Video: Why Celtic want to sign Reo Hatate

Reports say that Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou will look to exploit the Japanese market by signing Kawasaki Frontale utility man, Reo Hatate in January. It is said that a deal will be agreed ahead of the window opening, with a suggestion that the player may even be available for the game against Rangers. The player has predominately featured in midfield this season, but is thought of as a left-back and can even play left-wing.

However, given that the J-League doesn’t register overly on Celtic fans’ radar, we must look online at what kind of player to expect from Hatate.

He looks a pacey, dynamic player and if he is seen as being the ideal candidate to play in Postecoglou’s IWB position on the left.

  1. He looks good in the clips but he is predominantly right footed which seems odd to play him on the left. He can use both feet though which is a plus! Go get him Celtic !
