Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson get into hilarious Twitter debate over memories of Celtic vs Dundee United

It’s still strange to think that two of the best defenders in the world right now were playing in Scotland not that long ago.

That title may seem like a stretch with Andy Robertson, but there’s not a lot of great left backs going around and he’s part of one of the best teams in the world.

On the other hand Virgil van Dijk can claim to be the best in his position, with no real weaknesses you can imagine him being a standout performer anywhere on the pitch.

Andy Robertson has been taking questions on Twitter all afternoon, but this one started to gain a bit of traction:

Firstly it’s worth noting that the picture presumably shows van Dijk popping up in the right wing position, but it looked like his response would end the argument:

Not to be outdone, Robertson hit back with a response of his own:

It’s hard to tell what game this came from, but a look at the timeline and line-ups suggests it came from Celtic’s 2-0 win at Tannadice in 2014, so that would suggest that van Dijk would have the last laugh in this argument.
