‘We Love Covering Scottish Football,’ BT Sport Set for Cup Final Special

BT Sport have announced that the Betfred Cup coverage next weekend will begin at 9am and finish at 6pm, totalling a huge nine hours on screen to cover the final between Celtic and Rangers.

The final takes place next Sunday as Neil Lennon’s side and Steven Gerrard’s battle for the first piece of silverware for the season. The buildup begins at 9am taking supporters up to the 3pm kick-off at Hampden.

Darrell Currie, Chris Sutton, Ally McCoist and the rest of the BT Sport team will be gearing up for the huge game, which will be the last of their coverage for the Betfred Cup.

BT Sport will leave the Scottish game after failing to win the rights to the Scottish game after being outbid by Sky Sports and Premier Sports but that isn’t stopping them from trying to maximise the Cup Final for the supporters.

Executive Producer Grant Phillips of Sunset and Vine Productions, who are behind BT’s coverage of Scottish football, said that the team are doing all they can to make sure that the showpiece final is given justice.

“We are throwing everything at it.

“It’s our last one, a huge game for BT Sport and our Sunset and Vine team in Glasgow.

“We love covering Scottish football and that’s reflected in everything we do up here.”
