Welcome home! Aussie Tam is back among the Bhoys

TOM ROGIC returned to training with Celtic today, much to the delight of manager Brendan Rodgers.

All four Celtic players at the World Cup were given a two week break after their participation in the tournament ended so Rogic and Cristian Gamboa were scheduled to return today.

Mikael Lustig’s competition ended at the quarter finals stages with Sweden losing to England. The Celtic man was suspended for that game having picked up two yellow cards.

Meanwhile Dedryck Boyata’s two week break starts on Saturday – after Belgium lost to France in the World Cup semi-final – they now play on Saturday for 3rd place against the other semi-final losers, England.

Boyata must have the most impressive record of all Celtic players to have played at a World Cup, having started 3 games and won them all.

Celtic will earn around £900,000 from FIFA for the 4 players being at the World Cup and with two going deep into the competition. Our four player contribution to the World Cup collective pool of players was actually more that over 50% of the English Premier League clubs – with all their wealth – were able to supply.

Hopefully Tom Rogic is well refreshed and ready for the remaining Champions League summer qualifiers.
