Welcome to Celtic Benjamin Nygren

Celtic tonight secured the signing of Swedish attacker Benjamin Nygren for a fee of around £1.8 million from Danish Superliga club FC Nordsjealland in what can only be described as a superb piece of business by the club.

Benjamin who would’ve cost much more if it weren’t for his contract situation looks a very promising talent and at only 23 has his best years ahead of him, and more importantly he’s a player with a great wealth of experience and one that will be capable of going straight into the first team.

Last season saw Benjamin score an impressive 16 goals in 32 game in all competitions for the Danish side and it’s quite clear he is a player with a great future in the game.

Also just recently he broke into the full Swedish national side and boasts a record of two goals in just 3 caps for his country.

He’s a mainly attacking player with the right wing his preferred position, but can operate anywhere across the front three and even looks comfortable in the number ten role.

It’s an area we needed to upgrade due to Jota being sidelined through long term injury leaving us with Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda as the only player you would class as guaranteed starters on the flanks.

Hopefully Benjamin is the first of many new faces, especially in the attacking area. Welcome to Celtic Benjamin, I’m sure you will be a huge success.

Welcome news to bolster the attack.
Hopefully the first of a few new signings (and just as important, the retention of key players through the summer)
