“We’re going to look to take care of business over the next three games,” Joe Hart

Joe Hart’s immediate focus is on the three Celtic games over the next week that will take us up to the trip to Australia and the break for the Qatar World Cup, with the squad targeting three wins and nine points to at worst protect our four points advantage at the top of the league looking down on theRangers, with the wee song that irritates the life out of some folk.

Speaking at the club’s Media Conference ahead of this afternoon’s 3pm kick-off at Celtic Park against Dundee United the experienced Celtic goalkeeper reflected on the Champions League campaign and what Celtic have to do to get better but admitted that that is all for the future with the absolute priority at the moment to win the games against Dundee United, Motherwell in midweek at Fir Park and then Ross County back at Celtic Park next weekend.

“There’s no danger of complacency, there are certainly dangers when it comes to the game on Saturday and it’s been proven many times,” the former England No.1 said. “It will be a good tough game and there are no guarantees but it won’t be down to what’s happened recently. It will be down to how we perform on the day and whatever result we get we will fully deserve one way or another.

“It’s pretty simple, we focus game-by-game, that hasn’t been an issue for us as a group. We’re fully focused on Saturday and we’re feeling good to go. We’re going to look to take care of business over the next three games and then worry about the future when it comes.”

On the Champions League, Hart was one of only four Celtic players who went into the premier event in club football with any previous experience, the others being the captain Callum McGregor, James Forrest and Giorgos Giakoumakis (with AEK Athens). And he revealed a burning ambition within this long squad to learn from their debut campaign, Celtic’s first in five seasons, to get back in there next season and to make an impact.

“I don’t think you can light the fire any more,” Hart said. “It’s something that the club we represent should feel. We want to give that little bit more and I don’t think it could make us another more hungry as it’s something essential to this club.

“We’re learning all the time, myself included. I may have played in many of those games but I think we’re learning as a group and that’s the most important thing. It makes us united if we have a common goal and we’ve had that from day one and it’s only getting stronger.

“Good, bad, indifferent, we analyse it and move forward.”
