‘We’re totally exempt from any blame from this whatsoever,’ Lenny

NEIL LENNON defended Scott Brown and indeed all his Celtic stars who played against the an ill-disciplined Rangers side on Sunday. In an interview on Celtic TV the Celtic boss has had his say on the ridiculous charges that the Scottish FA brought against Broony yesterday.

“My players have been exemplary,” Lenny said.

“Absolutely exemplary under immense provocation themselves.

“Scott Brown has nothing to defend himself for. I think that his treatment on the pitch was nothing short of disgraceful.

“He’s been elbowed, he’s been hit in the face.

“But he takes it, he stands up to it and comes back for more. And that’s the character of the man.

“So you get the usual nonsense and trying to put the same eggs in one basket. We’re totally exempt from any blame from this whatsoever.”

Celtic responded to the charges on the club’s Twitter account yesterday, stating that they would “vigorously” defend the charges brought against Scott Brown and indeed the club.

“Following the news today that Celtic captain, Scott Brown and the club have been cited by the SFA in relation to last Sunday’s game, a club spokesperson said: ‘Celtic will defend these charges vigorously.’” read the Tweet, here’s the Celtic TV interview with Neil Lennon.
