The race for the league title is all but over. Everyone knows that. Without sounding disrespectful to the rest of the league, it’s highly unlikely we will fail to register the three wins needed in the remaining nine fixtures to make it official. Indeed we might not even need that many, given the inconsistency of theRangers.
Seemingly we could our titles now
A win over theRangers on Sunday would all but confirm our fourth consecutive title, our 55th overall (we seemingly count our titles in this country now) and we will undoubtedly celebrate that milestone on Sunday if we do indeed win the game.
It’s not that straightforward however, and theRangers will be well up for the match. Backed by their small travelling band of supporters they will be rejuvenated after their recent European exploits, with nothing to play for but pride, and we all know how well they deal with the threat of no pressure. They will prove to be a very dangerous opponent.
Don’t be too comfortable going into the game
The last derby encounter at the start of the new year is very much a warning to our players. We arrived at Ibrox more than content and comfortable with our 14 points commanding lead, but we were well beaten by a much more aggressive and overall much better theRangers side on the day. It wasn’t a bad day at the office for Celtic, it was a terrible one.
We couldn’t have any complaints as the best side on the day won, and we got what we fully deserved. That was in a huge part down to our attitude on the day. We thought we just had to turn up against a side low on form and self confidence, but in the end we were made to pay.

They owe themselves and more importantly they owe us a result and performance after that horror show in early January. Nothing less will be acceptable. It’s time for the Celtic team to serve up another Beautiful Sunday…
