Yet another centre back Celtic rumour, this time Etienne Youte

Another transfer rumour has surfaced this time in the shape of French defender Etienne Youte…

Etienne Youte

Youte who plays for Ligue 1 side Le Havre stands at 6ft 5 inches and looks evert bit the typical colossus commanding centre back. The 23 year old former French youth international was born in Lyon and joined Inter Milan straight from the Troyes youth side in his native France before having a spell with Olyimpiacos B via his return to his homeland with Le Harve.

The player has been a regular in Ligue 1 the past three seasons and is available at the relatively low price of £3.4 million due to being in the last year of his contract.

How much contact Celtic have had with the players representatives or Le Harve remains to be seen, but it is yet another one to watch out for, and yet another indication that we are very much in the market for a central defender. But with the likes of Anderlecht and Besiktas said to be sniffing around the player, the club will need to act fast if it’s a deal they wish to pursue.

The problem with reports like this one is that so many clubs are mentioned as being interested vaguely interested, probably in an attempt to build up hype around a player looking for an upwards move. Pinch of salt until something more substantial emerges on this one.
