Young defender leaves Celtic to join United

Sam Wardrop today completed a move from Celtic to sign for Dundee United on a two year contract. The promising defender is a product of the Celtic Youth Academy and he made his first team debut last summer in a pre-season friendly against Lyon before being loaned out for the season to Dumbarton.

The 20-year-old now moves to Tannadice where he will be aiming to help Csaba Laszlo’s side gain promotion back to the Premiership.

Dundee United are also interested in securing a loan deal from Celtic for the club’s youngest ever goal-scorer,
Jack Aitchison.
