£2.5m Celtic target told he’s not ready for big move yet

Football is littered with examples of players taking the first big move that comes along and it can ruin their career, so it’s good to see a former player dishing out some good advice.

Louis Appere has started to break through at Dundee United this season, it’s hard to tell if he’s at his best cutting in from the wing or playing through the middle, but the presence of Lawrence Shankland up top will limit opportunities to play up front.

With Shankland’s goal scoring record you would expect him to be the player being linked with Celtic, but a report from HITC has tried to claim he’s a £2.5m target for Neil Lennon’s side.

Both the link and the price tag seems a bit far fetched at this point, and the report goes on to give the thoughts of former United player Lee Wilkie who agrees.

Not only does he not think he’s ready for Celtic, he also claims he might not be ready for the top flight at all just now, so that price tag just doesn’t seem plausible at all.

Dundee United should get promoted this season so we could see the young forward in the Premiership next season to see how he copes, but there’s very little to suggest this transfer would happen anytime soon.
