Premier League side want Nicolas Kühn to replace departing £55m star

Celtic could face a fight to retain Nicolas Kühn this summer with a number of teams eager to sign the German winger. The ex-Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig attacker was sensational in the first half of the season, catching the eye with his performances domestically and in the UEFA Champions League.

According to TEAMtalk, Brentford want to sign Kühn to replace Bryan Mbeumo, who looks set to leave this summer to sign for Manchester United. The Scottish Champions would be willing to discuss a deal for the player if they are to receive offers in excess of £20m.

Since signing from Rapid Vienna in January 2024, Kühn has scored 24 goals and assisted 18 times in 69 appearances for the club, helping Celtic to win four trophies. It was expected that the player would attract interest from England this summer and Brentford have been rumoured to be the frontrunners with Thomas Frank keen on the 25-year-old.

United are currently in talks with Brentford over a deal to sign Mbeumo. The Old Trafford club made an opening bid of £55m, which is expected to fall short of the valuation of the winger. The Cameroon International has scored 70 goals and assisted on 51 occasions in 242 appearances for the Premier League outfit.

If Kühn were to make the switch to London, he might link up with Kyogo – who is reportedly the subject of talks between Rennes and Brentford.
