Both Celtic and Dunfermline Confirm Ewan Henderson loan deal

Celtic have confirmed that midfielder Ewan Henderson has gone out on loan to Dunfermline Athletic until the end of the season. And the official Pars website also confirmed that the loan deal had been completed.

“The Celtic attacking midfielder joins on loan until the end of the season. We would like to thank Celtic for their help and support in allowing Ewan to join us,” Dunfermline Athletic’s website reports.

Celtic have also confirmed the loan move, wish Ewan Henderson the best of luck at the Pars until the end of the season.

With the lack of competitive football for the development sides due to the pandemic restrictions Celtic are clearly taking the opportunity to get some of the best young players out on loan to get some much needed game-time. Don’t be surprised if there are more of these type of short term loan deals happening over the next week or so.

Ewan Henderson has always impressed when given a chance at Celtic. He broke into the side in the last few games of the Brendan Rodgers era but suffered as a result of Neil Lennon taking over in what was seen as a crisis moment to guide Celtic to the Treble Treble. That didn’t allow for youngsters to get their chance in the first team.

A loan spell at Ross County curiously didn’t appear to be particularly successful but he returned to Celtic and when called upon against Lille in the Europa League this season – replacing the injured Jeremie Frimpong – he looks well able to deal with that standard and was a stand-out in the second half.

We wish Ewan all the best for his short spell at Dunfermline but haste ye back son!
