Full Time in Forfar – Second half double from ‘Skelper Mariah Lee as Celtic FC Women win 8-0

Pride in wearing the Hoops today in abundance from Celtic FC Women who have beaten Forfar Farmington 8-0 in the crucial SWPL1 match at Station park to keep their Champions League dream alive. As we reported earlier the Ghirls in the green and white Hoops were 4-0 ahead at the interval with the goals coming from Anna Filbey, Izzy Atkinson, Sarah Ewens and Sarah Teegarden.

It was same again in the second half with the ruthless Celts adding another 4 to the scoreline to complete a satisfying 8-0 win, taking the three points back down the road and improving the goal difference at the same time.

The second half goal scorers were Chloe Craig who scored from the penalty spot in 54 minutes, ‘Skepler Mariah Lee on the hour mark to make it 6-0 to the visitors, Anna Filbey got her second a few minutes late to make it a Magnificent Seven for the Hoops before the ‘Skelper added her own second shortly before the end.

Niall J will have his usual match report later this evening on The Celtic Star – he got the long straw when deciding who was watching which game – as our coverage of Celtic’s bid to win the SWPL1 or at least get one of the two Champions League spots continues (welcoming others to the party as we’ve gone along).

So today’s match ended with the scoreline Forfar Farmington 0 Celtic 8 – can anyone explain how we dropped two points against them back in December?
