Celtic won by a single goal in the end last night against Hearts at Celtic Park, with Kyogo Furuhashi getting the only goal of the game after some lightening quick play. Celtic did batter the Edinburgh side for large parts of the game, just as they had done at Tyncastle earlier in the season.
In the post-match analysis and interview after the game, Robbie Neilson whinned and winged about Kyogo’s goal being offside and how the official’s are the only thing that separated the two teams at the final whistle. The goal may have indeed been offside, however, maybe that is poetic justice for the Abada goal in Gorgie that day several months ago.
Just as we did at Tyncastle, we outplayed and outwited the opposition throughout the entire match and got what we thoroughly deserved in the end up. For Neilson to even suggest that officiating was the reason his team lost is just downright disingenuous from the former Hearts player. If Robbie would like to talk about refereeing decisions, what about the persistent fouling from his side that went unpunished by the official’s? Perhaps he could maybe examine the challenge from his winger on Anthony Ralston that could have resulted in an injury long before he actually left the field of play?
Nah, didn’t think so lad.
Here’s one for Robbie…
After the game Ange was asked about the Hearts manager complaining about the decision to award the goal and that he insisted it was the only difference between Celtic and his side. Ange was less than impressed with the question and gave a brusque reply that Neilson couldn’t have been watching the same game. The Celtic boss said to BBC Sport: “If anyone thinks the ref decided that game they’re watching a different game to what I am.”
