Ben Doak confirms Celtic exit with signing for Liverpool message

Ben Doak is “looking forward to a new chapter” after leaving Celtic to sign on at Liverpool FC. The 16 year old made his first team debut for Celtic in January coming on against Dundee United at Celtic Park before getting the incredible experience of playing the last few minutes in the 3-0 win over theRangers under the lights at Paradise on 2 February as Ange Postecoglou threw out all the stops to convince the winger that there was a very attractive pathway for him at Parkhead.

However the teenager opted for the lure of the English premier League and he leaves Celtic with best wishes from the club and most of the supporters although some will understandably feel disappointed that a young Celtic supporter could break into the first team yet walk away to play in England before he’s old enough to drive a car.

A handful of his former Celtic colleagues have posted replies to Doak’s Instagram message including Stephen Welsh, Bosun Lawal, Josh Dede and Dane Murray with more to follow. And despite our disappointment at this outcome we certain do wish him all the best in the Liverpool development side where he will wear the Number 7 jersey.

At the start of the year we carried a short interview with Ben exclusively on The Celtic Star and you can read that HERE.
