Ghirl Power – Clarissa Larisey beats the Bhoys to win Celtic’s Goal of the Month

Clarissa Larisey beat off stiff competition from Bhoys in both the Celtic first and B teams to win the Goal of the Month for March for his Larssonesque wonder-goal in the first minute of The Celtic FC Women’s match at Celtic Park against Hibs last month.

Around 5000 Celtic supporter enjoyed their afternoon in the sunshine at Paradise with Fran Alonso’s talented team running out comfortable 4-0 winners over the Easter Road outfit. And the 22 year old Canadian forward, playing as the lead striker in Charlie Wellings absence due to injury, got the very special occasion of to a brilliant start with this wonder goal which was head and shoulders above any other goal scored by any Celtic side last month.

The former Celtic captain and current club ambassador Tom Boyd judged the short-list of possible contenders but this one must have been his easiest task so far in selecting the Goal of the Month.

Huge congratulations to Clarissa Larisey for her award which of course raises the profile of The Celtic FC Women side still further.

A week on Sunday the Ghirls play Hearts in the Scottish Cup semi-final at the Falkirk Stadium and before that there’s a trip to New Douglas Park this Sunday to play Hamilton in the SWPL1.

After the success of the SWPL1 match against Hibs at Celtic Park, it’s hoped that there will be even more matches staged at Paradise next season.
