A marvellous display of attacking football in the Celtic Tradition of fast devastating play

Let us not get too excited about the “corner being turned” or anything like that, but was that not a marvellous display of attacking football IN THE CELTIC TRADITION of fast devastating play.

Let’s talk about the oriental gentleman first. What a great way to start his Celtic career at Parkhead! The difference between him and Edouard was stark and obvious. Kyogu simply WANTED to be there, and WANTED to score goals. He was fast, deadly and most of the time, accurate. The smile on his face at the end told it all. We can now expect another flowering of Celtic fan clubs in Japan in the same way as there were in Nakamura’s time.

And Ryan Christie! Let us hear no more about “wanting away”. The man is total class, and as I understand things, he is with us for the rest of the season. Let him now play out this season, adding to his total of medals and Scotland caps, and then we can think about the future. Christie must stay. It is as simple as that. What happened last season has happened. Times have changed. This is a new Celtic.

Anthony Ralston has also managed to quieten a few detractors with that brilliant goal of his, but he also played well throughout and if Celtic do enlist another full back, the new man will have to fight for his place. Indeed the defensive back four all played well today. Performances like that with Joe Hart behind them can do little other than build up confidence. Eddy? Maybe that penalty was his last goal for the club? If so, we will remember the good times, and try to forget the horrors.

But we must keep our feet on the ground as well. We will face more difficult teams than Dundee, and we must not get into any mindset that life is going to be easy this season. Today however does at least give us confidence to face whatever the next nine months will throw at us.

Dundee? Extremely lucky to get off with 6-0 and even luckier not to be down to nine men before half time. For the sake of Albert Kidd, I hope they don’t get relegated, but you would have to say, it’s a strong possibility. Their next door neighbours did well yesterday, though!

I was lucky to watch this one in the dry of my living room, but it was great to see so many of our fans with smiles upon their faces once again. They will be looking forward to Thursday night and next Sunday. The bus is booked. Happy days are here again – aren’t they?

Now, can we get behind that team. With our help and support, they can go places.

  2. Great result but still dangerous lapses in defence that better teams would punish, starfelt has to improve hi passing, positional sense and learn you never let the ball bounce, he was at fault for goals at hearts and jablo and nearly made same mistake 2day.
