A Perfect Day in Paradise and the Gallowgate

It’s Trophy presentation day, let’s put on a performance worthy of champions…

Today is the final game of a very successful league campaign. We also have the trophy presentation so it is going to be a very special day.

The atmosphere in the ground will as always on these occasions be electric, will the players put on as good a display on the park?

Celtic are worthy Champions that is in no doubt. We have won 31 games and scored an impressive 109 goals. We are by far the best side in the country. We’ve provided the goods when it mattered, that’s why we’re Champions.

The last few games have of course made for depressing viewing, but we can just put that down to the players downing tools with the title already in the bag. History won’t recognise such a blip, it only records winners. The small matter of a Scottish Cup Final on the horizon will have also been fresh in the mind.

That’s what makes today even more so important, we should be looking to put in a strong performance not just to sign off the league campaign in style, but to give us a boost as we head to Hampden next week aiming to clinch a record breaking eighth domestic treble.

I can see Ange go with his strongest XI, today the one we will most likely see start at Hampden against Inverness Caley Thistle. Hopefully they perform to the level we know they can and get a positive result and of course avoid picking up any injuries.

The supporters deserve to see a positive performance as it will give us all a confidence booster going into next week. It looks like being a Perfect Day, the sun is shining, the Green Brigade’s stadium display is good to go, the Trophy is all set to be raised above the heads of Callum McGregor and Ange Postecoglou and the street party has been ‘planned’ for afterwards (if you are going along to that bring black bags for your litter and annoy the hacks who want a story).

Three points today Bhoys, then we have not one but two Scottish Cup Finals to play in the next week. Tomorrow Fran Alonsos Celtic side plays theRangers in the Women’s Scottish Cup Final then next Saturday the season concludes with the Scottish Cup Final against Inverness at Hampden with the Treble the goal  for the Bhoys.

Enjoy your day everyone!

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.
