Celtic v Aberdeen: Team News, Match Officials, KO Time & Where to Watch

It is Trophy Day at Celtic Park as the Scottish Champions face Aberdeen in the final Cinch Premiership game of the season. Having won the title at Tynecastle earlier this month, Ange Postecoglou’s team will receive the trophy after the match as they round off the 2022/23 campaign against the visitors from Pittodrie.

Celtic are without a win in three since winning the title but with the Scottish Cup Final next weekend, the team will be keen to get themselves back to their usual high standards. Before the game, there is to be a full stadium display, organised by North Curve Celtic.

Celtic Team News

Ange made a number of changes for the game midweek but said that he took responsibility for the fact that the team were not at their best given the scale of changes. However, he has said that he is keen to round of what has been a stunning campaign with a win and performance for the fans.

After hobbling off in the first half, Sead Haksabanovic is out of the game today but will likely be back for the Cup Final. Daizen Maeda is suspended having been sent off. Aaron Mooy is still injured with a back injury.

In goals, expect Joe Hart to replace Scott Bain. Alistair Johnston is back and likely to be in contention. You’d imagine he’d get an hour or so before being replaced. Yuki Kobayashi will likely continue alongside Carl Starfelt; however, Stephen Welsh could make an appearance. Expect Greg Taylor to come in for Alexandro Bernabei.

In the midfield, Callum McGregor will start at the heart of the Celtic central three with Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate.

Kyogo will be looking to finish as the SPFL’s top goalscorer and he will start from the off. Liel Abada will likely start on the right with Jota on the left.

Predicted XI: Hart; Johnston, Starfelt, Kobayashi, Taylor; McGregor, Hatate, O’Riley; Jota, Kyogo, Abada
