Alan Rough – Celtic’s rivals one defeat away from ‘fan implosion’

Alan Rough has claimed that Celtic’s rivals are just one bad result away from a ‘fan implosion’. Since Mick Beale’s quick-style exit from Queens Park Rangers to head back up the road to Govan, leaving the club that gave him his first big break in management in the lurch after a mere few months, the media and certain pundits have done their best put as positive spin as possible on all things concerning theRangers.

Despite them winning their games outside of facing Ange Postecoglou and his side, they have only managed a draw at home to the Scottish Premiership Champions and lost out 2-1 in the Viaplay League Cup Final at Hampden, although the game should have finished with a higher scoreline in Celtic’s favour had they converted their other chances, especially in the latter stages of the match.

There has been plenty of hot air entering the atmosphere through many in the mainstream media talking about how Beale will stop the Hoops’ dominance in Scotland. It’s been very fanciful at best and hasn’t translated to results against Celtic on the park. That’s the only real yardstick that the people that follow the Glasgow club entertain and so far it hasn’t been good enough.

Unfortunately though, protests at the weekend have been much louder than previously and the Ibrox Board and manager are under severe pressure to win silverware this season to alleviate fears for the future. The fans are wanting blood for their failure to build on their Covid title win in the 2020/21 season and have witnessed a significant turning of the tables since that behind closed doors season.

Alan Rough has declared on PLZ Soccer that there is a real feeling that the Ibrox fanbase are one bad result away from completely imploding this year. Its definitely palpable with the protests against Managing Director, Stewart Robertson and Recruitment Chief, Ross Wilson.

At present however, they are being saved by some really dodgy VAR calls on a weekly basis and this has been holding back the tide for now. But there is no hiding place come April and they will have to play is twice. We can end their season on Sunday, 30 April and its a chance at redemption following the events of last year in the Scottish Cup.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
