‘Alexa – Show me a picture of club captains standing beside a trophy they’ve never won!’

WHAT a bizarre photograph this is. It appears to show the captains of all the Scottish Premiership sides together with the Premiership trophy – all except Scott Brown, the Celtic captain who has lifted the trophy every year for the past 8 seasons.

Celtic Nation on Twitter summed it up the best, writing, “Alexa – Show me a picture of club captain’s standing beside a trophy they’ve never won!”

Presumably the SPFL wanted to get this photograph taken with ALL the captains and while none should get any particular preference or special treatment over the rest, it was well known that Celtic would be in Champions League qualifying duties this week, well because we WON the Scottish Premiership trophy last season!

Someone pointed out that the Ross County captain Marcus Fraser was at Celtic when we won the league so that is perhaps the nearest that Neil Doncaster got to a Scottish Premiership winner in his photograph.

Another supporter asked if they they planning on photoshopping Brown in? Another asked if Scott Brown was taking the photograph!

Another Celtic supporter, doesn’t understand why the rest turned up and can understand why Broony isn’t there, because there will be no league race this year as the Rangers romp away with it to win their first ever major title. “I’m reliably informed, by numerous Rangers players and fans, that (the) Rangers will romp the league this year. I’m gutted about this,” he said.

And while on Champions League duty in Estonia, Neil Lennon had to take time out to address the media questions on just how brilliant the Rangers are going to be this season. They have brought in some guy called Sheyi Ojo (heard of him? No, me neither) who reckons that the Rangers are the best team in Scotland and he’s not impressed by Celtic, not sure if he’s seen Celtic or he was just told to say that.

“I don’t know what it’s based on, but he is entitled to his opinion. It just washes over us,” Lenny said in Tallinn.

“We are here to play in the Champions League. We’ve had a great start to this tie, so it doesn’t matter what people say.

“We just get on with what we are doing. We know what our focus is at the minute. We get through this tie then look forward to the campaign kicking off on Saturday.

“I don’t think our players have to justify themselves in any way, shape or form. To be fair to them, over the last few years they have done that very well,” Lenny said to the Media as we reported this morning, see HERE.

Anyway the Rangers captain seemed to take the task of appearing in a photograph alongside a major trophy very seriously, judging by the fact that he is the ONLy club captain to appear wearing his armband!

“Rfc guy with his arm band on! That’s special,” Mick McMichaels noted.
