Alistair Johnston injury blow, possible transfer market implications

Alistair Johnston injury a blow, will it force Brendan’s hand in the transfer market?…

Reports that Alistair Johnston will miss the start of the season is a major blow. The Canadian international suffered another injury on international duty, whether it’s a recurrence of his previous injury is anyone’s guess.

Is it a long term or short term injury? Either way it’s a blow going into the start of the Season as the Canadian is a superb player and a vital part of our side.

The question is will it force Brendan’s hand in the transfer market? Tony Ralston is reliable enough but to be brutally honest he’s nothing more than a back up and he too doesn’t have the best of luck on the injury front either.

We could see a new man brought in for that area, either short term or long term. It’s a must we improve in the area and I think Brendan will be of the same thinking, so expect some movement in that area, if not, it’s a bit of a worry.
