Ange Postecoglou drops David Turnbull and Kyogo boost for the Celtic support

David Turnbull is now fully fit and will be in the Celtic squad tomorrow and Kyogo is not going to be too far behind him, that’s the good news today from the Celtic manager’s Media Conference.

Speaking about Turnbull joining the squad for the first time since his hamstring injury in the League Cup Final win over Hibs in December Ange provided an update on both players and also revealed that Jota and Abada are available again after missing the Scottish Cup quarter final win over Dundee United at Tannadice on Monday night but also stated that James Forrest will miss the game tomorrow but should be okay for the the games after the international break.

On David Turnbull’s return: “He’ll be important for us. He was fantastic for us first half of the year,” Ange Postecoglou said at today’s Media Conference ahead of the Scottish Premiership match against Ross County at Celtic Park tomorrow afternoon. “He’s a quality player, he’s a goal threat, he’s good on set pieces and I think he adds something to our team

“He’s trained the last 10 days and worked hard in rehab. I know he’s itching to get back out there. Watching him train, he’s ready to go.”

On Kyogo who has been out since the Boxing Day win over St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park Ange said this when asked about the return of his Japanese talisman. “Not sure, we’ll just wait and see. If you go by timelines, Dave got injured before Kyogo, so you can read into that what you like.

“Without putting any sort of timeframes on it, he’s working through his rehab and I’m sure he’ll be available soon.”

That clue, which Ange has of course given before was repeated today and the conclusion is therefore that all things being equal Kyogo will be available after the international break.
