Ange Postecoglou not planning summer raid on Celtic trio

Ange Postecoglou is not planning a summer raid on Celtic this summer. The Australian left Celtic after sealing a Treble with a Scottish Cup Final win over Inverness CT at Hampden; however, it was clear from his evasion of questions that he was set to depart with the opportunity to manage in the Premier League too great for Postecoglou to turn down.

According to Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge, Postecoglou does not see a raid on the Scottish Champions as being a high priority this summer.

Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kyogo and Reo Hatate have all been linked with moves to North London but it appears that the Premier League side are prioritising other players as Ange looks to make an impact at Spurs. There is also a question as to whether Celtic included a clause that prohibits Ange from returning to plunder Celtic’s brightest talents.

With Jota departing for Al-Ittihad, Celtic are expected to receive a Scottish record export fee but this will mean that the club are less likely to want to offload any more stars as Brendan Rodgers wants to strengthen for the new season rather than completely rebuild.

Celtic have already signed Marco Tilio and Odin Thiago Holm this summer but have lost Aaron Mooy and Jota. Rodgers has said that he wants to improve the team this summer with a view to make an impact in European football.
