Ange Postecoglou to Tottenham expected to be finalised in next 48 hours

Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic departure is expected to be confirmed within the next 48 hours with the 57-year-old set to be confirmed as the new Head Coach of Tottenham Hotspur. The Australian saw his side win a record-breaking Treble on Saturday but Hampden certainly had a tinge of sadness in the air as Postecoglou took his lap of honour, soaking up the adulation of the support.

Now, The Daily Mail are reporting that Ange is set to be announced as Spurs’ new boss having agreed personal terms and Celtic consenting to talks taking place. Postecoglou will sign a two year contract with an option of a third with a multi-million-pound compensation deal.

Ange is reportedly keen on bringing John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan with him as well as analyst Greg Wallace. The club will struggle to retain the trio, who will see the opportunity to coach at one of England’s biggest clubs as an offer too good to turn down.

Celtic, meanwhile, will act quickly to appoint a new manager with Jesse Marsch and Brendan Rodgers the frontrunners at this stage. It is in everyone’s interest that Postecoglou’s departure is swift but also that we remember his impressive two seasons at the club.
