Ange Postecoglou’s incredible Celtic statement ahead of Liverpool clash

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has issued some gushing praise regarding Celtic. The Australian was hired by Celtic in the summer of 2021 and he went on to win five out of six trophies during his time at the club, bringing an impressive style of play to the club and conquering all domestically.

Now, a few months after departure, Ange has said that he will have a connection with the club forever. Although, incredibly, Ange admitted that he still watches the games. Speaking to Sky Sports Scotland, Postecoglou was full of praise for his former employers.

“I loved my time there. I loved living in Glasgow, my family had a great time, and I loved working at that football club. I follow their results, I try to watch their games every week.

“I’ve got a connection with that club now forever. It’s just a fantastic football club. Just the way people supported me and treated me the whole time – not just me but my whole family. It’s a real strong connection I have there.”

The Spurs manager has enjoyed initial success since swapping Glasgow for London, winning the Manager of the Month Award for August and remaining unbeaten, sitting fourth in the table. Klopp’s Liverpool also play high-intensity, attacking football and that will make for a special evening when the teams meet at the New White Hart Lane.

Celtic, meanwhile, face Motherwell tomorrow at Fir Park in what promises to be an engrossing clash between Brendan Rodgers’ team and Stuart Kettlewell’s side. Since returning to the club, Rodgers has slowly put his stamp on the team and the players are looking to understand the Irishman’s way of working more.
