Ange quips that Spurs ‘wouldn’t dare’ to contact him

Ange Postecoglou yesterday responded to the building speculation that he may be exiting Celtic at the end of the season to join Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. However, in typical Ange fashion, he clearly states that his sole focus is on his squad and the continuing preparations they are making for the upcoming Scottish Cup Final this weekend. Ange is, and has always been a straight shooter, and is clear on his vision to win the treble, without any distractions. So far so, that he quips that Spurs ‘wouldnt dare’ ask him anything the week before a cup final. Speaking to Football Scotland, Ange said…

“They know better than to ask me anything this week mate. They know me very well. They wouldn’t dare ask me about anything.”

When asked if there are on going discussions between himself and Spurs, Ange responded…

“No. I know you find that surprising. That’s hard for you to understand because you are not me. You are not in my skin, you don’t live and breathe this job that I have and what Saturday means to me, these players, this football club. There is nothing more important – apart from my family obviously – than that game.”

“It’s not just about me. This club is planning for next year, planning to bring players in. There is a full range of conversations going on, but my focus is on making sure we win a game of football which is very, very important to us.”

Although Ange’s future is unclear, his mind seems clearly set on Celtic and winning the treble. So for now, the growing speculation doesn’t really mean anything as Ange is adimant that he is focused only on Celtic’s treble chances this season.
