Announcement imminent – Celtic close in on £3m deal for attacker

Nicolas Kuhn has arrived in Glasgow to put the finishing touches on his move to Celtic. The 24-year-old is expected to complete a £3m plus add-ons move from Rapid Vienna after completing his medical in London.

As reported by Football Scotland’s Mark Hendry, the deal is close to being announced with the player having arrived in Glasgow this evening.

Celtic have been engaged in negotiations with Rapid for the some time as Rodgers looks to bring quality into his attacking third. With Daizen Maeda and Oh away for the Asia Cup, Rodgers will want to get his team firing on all cylinders for the second half of the season. Now, the Irishman nearly has his man.

Kühn started his career at St Pauli in their youth academy before moving to Hannover and then RB Leipzig before a €2m switch to Ajax in 2020.

Wyscout have named Kühn as one of the top 12 ‘chance creators’ in world football, something that will have appealed to Celtic’s recruitment team as they look to get sign the former prodigy. In 22 appearances this season, the attacker has three goals and seven assists and his offensive output has attracted the interest of Celtic. Hopefully, he’ll be able to replicate this metric at Celtic.
