Another dire display, but three points is all that matters

Another dire display, but three points is all that matters…

We got out of jail last night at Easter Road, there’s no doubts about it. In the end we achieved our objective of winning all three points but we could have so easily been left empty handed.

We played in the exact same manner as we did at Celtic Park against Ross County and at Pittodrie against Aberdeen, we were lacklustre and disjointed. It’s becoming rather concerning truth be told, and it casts major doubts on our chances of winning the title.

That said it was a welcome and valuable three points. It may have papered over the cracks, but at the end of the night we achieved what we set out to do, and that was a win, and how we earned that matters not a jot in the end. After all, they do say winning ugly is the sign of champions, but questions quite rightly will be asked of our recent performances. It’s only natural.

If we can somehow wake up from our recent lethargic displays, then maybe we can kick on starting at Paisley on Sunday against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup. That incidentally is not going to be an easy fixture to negotiate and we will really need to get our act together if we are planning on securing an appearance at Hampden this season.

If not we are in for a rude awakening as we will not win  The Scottish Cup and the title playing so poorly. Hopefully last night was the kickstart we needed, we can only hope.
