Silly season in the mainstream media with the absolute non-story in The Scottish Sun claiming that a Celtic ultra was carrying a knife pointing towards The Celtic Board at Tannadice on Wednesday night. This claim is made on the basis of a photo by The Celtic Star’s match photographer (at away games only – no access, ever to Celtic Park)Vagelis Georgariou.
Here’s the photo that this non-story is based on…

If the supporter in the middle of this photo was carrying a knife then what were the dozen or so police officers doing allowing that to happen without intervening and making an arrest.
Police Scotland embarrass themselves
Apparently according to mainstream media site Celtic Way, a Police Scotland spokesperson addressed the matter, stating: “We are aware of an image circulating on social media that appears to show a supporter at the Dundee United vs Celtic game on Wednesday, 17 December 2025 holding a bladed weapon. Enquiries are ongoing and we are working with both clubs to identify this individual.”

This comes after the disgraceful non-story in the Sunday Mail about intimidation and threatening behaviour directed at The Celtic Board members which amounted to no more than a few posters plastered around the city.
And they couldn’t resist throwing more unproven accusations around when Peter Lawwell’s retirement was announced. However the most disgraceful thing about that was Lawwell actually claiming credit for Celtic participating in group stage European football for all but two years of his tenure.
No wonder Celtic supporters in increasing numbers prefer to get their news for from the more reliable and honest Celtic fan media.
This evening the Celtic Fans Collective, after consulting all signatories released the following statement, providing a supporters’ update ahead of Sunday’s match against Aberdeen at Celtic Park.
CELTIC FAN COLLECTIVE UPDATE – Fan Demonstration – Sunday 2pm…

The Celtic Fans Collective welcomes the departure of Peter Lawwell from Celtic Football Club. During his tenure, the club failed to progress in line with its resources, potential, and the clearly expressed expectations and ambitions of the support. Change at board level continues to be both inevitable and necessary.
The notion that fans have pursued a threatening campaign against Peter Lawwell and the board is baseless and part of a wider pattern of unsupported allegations being made against fans. Today, a newspaper story has even alleged that a supporter brandished a knife at board members during the match against Dundee United. Photographic evidence makes it very clear that this allegation is completely unfounded, and this stands as a ludicrous example of how eager some are to portray the campaign for change as a baying mob.

The Celtic Fans Collective is committed to peaceful and principled campaigning to hold our board to account.
The real story is that our club is in disarray both on and off the park. The Celtic board is responsible for the team’s decline and for the growing disconnect between the club’s leadership and its supporters. The longer they remain in place, the more damage they will do to the club we all love.

We call on all supporters to join us for a historic demonstration at 2pm on Sunday 21 December, ahead of the match against Aberdeen, to demand the resignations of Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay, and Brian Wilson. We also call on all fans to continue to hit the board in the pocket by supporting the Not Another Penny campaign on Sunday and in the run up to Christmas.
Celtic supporters have a long and storied history of organising collectively, often against overwhelming odds, to achieve great victories. This moment in our club’s history calls on fans to unite once again and to send a crystal-clear message to the current custodians: your time is up.
One down. More to go.

Welcome to Scotland where an image like this is enough for Police Scotland to open a investigation 🤣 pic.twitter.com/OnscjzqLuB

How pathetic is this? I know Scottish police are incompetent but even they’re not that stupid.
An investigation when a line of cops half a yard from him seen nothing.
The finger could kill someone. 😂 https://t.co/wE0xWrvM93

The Celtic board have signalled its open season to accuse Celtic fans of anything and everything.
The more violent the better.
Everyone gets thrown under the bus to take eyes away from Nicholson and co destroying the club.

Disgraceful. The media and their lackeys will go to the end of the earth to discredit the Celtic support. Anyone who buys the Sun deserves all the hateful misinformation they get.
I have often heard that in 2012 The Rangers/Sevco fans threatened to burn down Celtic Park and also assault the office staff and yet the club made no statement or complaint to the Police.
Why, when they were unwilling to name and shame their real enemies, are they so ready to damn their own support.
This goes to the very crux of the problem the fans have with our current “custodians”. They are so determined to keep their beloved “Old Firm” brand that they would rather vilify their own fans with made up accusations than call out the people who really wish to do harm to Celtic.
