As Greg Taylor door closes, Owen Beck’s opens for Celtic

Greg Taylor is understood to be booked in for a medical with Greek side PAOK and will travel to Greece for talks in the next week as looks like ending his six year stay at Celtic…

The left-back was signed by Neil Lennon, ironically as a replacement for Kieran Tierney who has now returned to the club, and it appears that the former Kilmarnock man is now heading for the exit door at Celtic.

Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports broke the latest news in the last hour and it looks like we will need to step up our hunt for a back up to Kieran Tierney.

Taylor,  who was also being tracked by FC Copenhagen, looks to have decided his next move and will leave with nothing but the best wishes from the Celtic support.

It’s all but certain that Greg Taylor will be leaving Celtic and that will be a real blow as he’s a player who gives nothing but one hundred percent on the field, and knows that ”inverted full-back’ role inside out.

His contract at Celtic runs out at the end of the month but with little chance of a last-minute re-think it looks very much that Greg Taylor will join the Scottish players playing their football abroad with an early July move to Greece to play for PAOK.

Meanwhile Brendan Rodgers has previously shown strong interest in Owen Beck, who appears to be surplus to requirements at Liverpool and has been out on loan at Blackburn last season. During an earlier stand-out loan spell at Dundee, Beck certainly impressed the Celtic manager.

Today there are reports that Russell Martin at theRangers is keen on signing Beck but only if he can move on their Turkish left-back Ridvan Yilmaz for a fee to fund the purchase of the Liverpool lad. Wonder if Brendan is thinking what we’re thinking?
