‘Back soon’, Celtic defender posts fitness update

Christopher Jullien has updated supporters saying that he will be ‘back soon’ as the 28-year-old completes his final days of resave at Clairefontaine in France. The central defender has been working back from a bad knee injury, stepping up his rehabilitation in the hope that he will be fit ahead of the new season.

The montage shows Jullien undertaking fitness work in the French facility after a smash ended his season back in December. A back injury earlier in the campaign also kept him out of the team and it is fair to say he has been a big miss this year.

This season, however, Celtic have missed Jullien at the back. In his absence, the makeshift defensive unit shipping a number of goals. He will be hoping that he can get himself back to full fitness so that he can prove to the new management team that he is a reliable option at the back moving forward.

The defender returned to France to continue his rehabilitation from a knee injury suffered at the end of 2020. In the 3-0 win over Dundee United, the French defender rushed towards the goal and slid in to make a goal saving clearance but was left grounded when his knee collided with the base of the post. The horror smash saw the central defender stretchered off.
