Barkas Video Shocker: “Swap him for a traffic cone”,”£20 grand a week to dance for five minutes”

This video, apparently of Vasilis Barkas ‘warming up’ ahead of the Scottish Premiership match at Celtic Park this afternoon between Celtic and Dundee is pretty remarkable. The Greek goalkeeper’s lack of effort to move towards te various shots being fired at him is pretty disturbing from a Celtic point of view.

Remarkably the club paid AEK Athens £4.5m for Barkas just over a year ago and after a dreadful debut season the Greek keeper was given a clean slate by Ange Postecoglou who last week added Joe Hart to his squad as his first choice goalkeeper on a long term deal.

Barkas obviously is NOT impressed by the signing of Hart and this video certainly suggests a poor attitude, does it not? The replies are hilarious…

“One word = horrific”…”Swap him for a traffic cone”…”hocking, isn’t it? I’ve been trying to give the guy a break but he’s completely disinterested. Doesn’t make sense as he was brilliant for AEK!”…”if he’s not working, we should stop paying him”…”£20 grand a week to dance for five minutes!”

  1. Say what you want about Bain but at least he tries! It’s clear that Barkas has given up hope of being first choice, sell him and buy another backup to Hart.

  2. Sorry, but I just don’t get the willingness to bash Barkas. He needs a boosr not a bash. Whether we keep him or sell him, his value will nose dive if his confidence drops. He is a Greek international, he is clearly not useless….he is simply in a long dip in form.
