Barry Ferguson Says Celtic Will Be A “Wounded Animal” Next Season

Former Rangers star Barry Ferguson has warned Ibrox fans that Celtic will be a “wounded animal” next season, after watching the Govan club celebrate winning the title.

Pleased as Ferguson was to see Celtic’s ten in a row quest ended at the weekend, he has told Gerrard’s men and supporters that they must be on their guard next season.

Speaking to Go Radio, Ferguson said: “In terms of Celtic as a team, the Rangers mindset right now (has to be): that’s a wounded animal, they’re going to come back.

“That’s the kind of mindset that you’ve got to have and I’m sure they will come back, because they’ll want to go and appoint a manager, they’re going to give the manager funds to go and strengthen.

“So if you’re in the Rangers dressing room, or involved with Rangers, you’re fully expecting Celtic to come back fighting next season.”

In addition to warning the blue side of Glasgow, he continued by talking about Scott Brown rallying the troops abt Parkhead: “If you lost a league title that’s what I used to do, I used to sit down and watch your rivals celebrate.

“It used to make me even angrier and made me work even harder, and I used to say to my team-mates ‘did you watch that?’.

“So hopefully it doesn’t spur Celtic on!”
